Any good hair salons?

I WANT TO CUT MY HAIR WITH A CHINESE, KOREAN OR JAPANESE PERSON BECUASE THEY DO NEET STUFF, BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO AND I DONT WANT IT TO BE EXPENSIVE ETHER.

ANY HELP ME GIVE ME PLACES AROUND THE [213]-[323] LA AREA THANKSAny good hair salons?
You can get good prices (not expensive) at an Asian hair salon, at least in my area (SF).

I went to Yelp.com and did a search for ';Asian hair salons'; in Los Angeles, CA.

Here are the results: http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=asi鈥?/a>

This website is terrific; it has reviews by anyone who feels inspired to write about one (restaurants, salons, etc.).

A recommendation: if you can get a picture of what you think is a good hairstyle, bring it! Bring as many as you can find! If not, go to your appointment early and look through their books and magazines of hair styles, so you can show the stylist what it is you want.

Also, if you want something really extreme (punky colors, etc.) then try to find a salon where the stylists are into that kind of look (i.e., they look like that themselves).

Where's a good east bay hair salon that does good prom styles for asian hair?

Does Salon Care color remover from sallys beauty work?

my natural hair color is medium brown, 3 months ago i dyed it dark brown and it turned black... so now i want to get the color out without bleaching it..i just want to remove the color as safe as possible without damaging it ..does the remover actually work?Does Salon Care color remover from sallys beauty work?
Yes Color Oops is also a great option and one many people I know have used. If you go into Sally's ask the clerk for some help pointing you in the right direction and they will be more than glad to help ya and will be able to look at your hair and take ya to the product you need.

Would i get good results from a salon with this picture?

if i printed out my avatar and said make me look like me. would i be this cute?Would i get good results from a salon with this picture?
sure....then y could be one of the model on the old navy commercials..ya know the mannicans(sp?) they use now.....you would look fab!!!!Would i get good results from a salon with this picture?
Not really, the best results are from a front picture and a back picture that's of a real person!! All salons have hundreds of magazines and books that will have a style similar to this. Just go in and ask to look at their books, I'm sure you'll find something.
Well honey your avatar looks a little plastic, so I can hook ya up with a real great plastic surgeon, if you're interested? ;)
probably not. even with real pictures, salons still don't always understand exactly what you want. bringing in a real picture will give you better results!
Yes,,,if you're a man...
you'd be suprised what putty, tons of makeup and a bit of bleach can do....

My husband and I are renewing our vows on July 1st in Gatlinburg. Because we eloped originally, we are having the big wedding now. I wondered if anyone had been married there, and if so, what salon did you use? And if you remember, about how much did it cost and how long did it take? Califorina Hair Salons(Perm. Straight Hair?)?

I have curly hair and its really thick. I've been thinking about getting it permed straight. The problem is that I dont know where to go exactly. I live about 30min from riverside, an hour from San Diego. Are there any places nearby me that do this?Califorina Hair Salons(Perm. Straight Hair?)?
i\m all for straighting hair permanently BUT there are things you need to know. If you colour your hair a lot and with bleach then don't do it. it will make your hair fall out. there is only brand that I swear by it is called Paul brown. I'm is Australia but i know it is used in the USA. ring around and see what the salons use.

Good luck make sure you have a consultation before you have it doneCaliforina Hair Salons(Perm. Straight Hair?)?
i would advise against chemically straightening your hair. if you don't care about damage so much, just blow dry and flat iron it. much better for your hair, and LOOKs so much better and healthier. but if your gonna do what you wanna do, then i don't know, i don't live in california...google up some salons. good luck!

Should I go back to the salon and complain?

I recently moved out of my area so I had to find a new salon. I was informed of a really good one, although expensive, so I tried it out.

The guy apparently had only been working in this one for a week, but said he had 15 yrs of experience so I didn't mind. Well it was supposed to be dark brown with blonde highlights, its now a dark-ish brown with golden, almost orange lights and the color is blotchy, like some of it faded into the lighter streaks.

He was extremely nice and I feel bad about complaining but it cost me $215.00 and I am not happy with it at all, I thought about covering my head with a dark brown almost black so I don't have to look at it anymore. Everyone else likes it, (even ppl who would tell me if it look horrible) but I still don't.Should I go back to the salon and complain?
Go back and complain. Give him the opportunity to correct the problem. He didn't give you what you paid for.

Plus if you never return he will at least know why.Should I go back to the salon and complain?
Hell yeah! It is the job of any so called professional individual to live up to their job title and perform the job requested of them and the one that they've been paid for. You should complain to them. Don't go in just cussing everyone out and ready to kick some *** but definitely file a complaint. if it looks like how you say it does, there is no reason why they shouldn't refund you or redo it at no charge. Your $215 was hard earned money and you should get your money's worth out of it. Honestly you shouldn't have left without saying something if you weren't satisfied. A friend of mine had the same scenerio and now that it's been like 6 months she wishes that she would have said something. My sister is a beautician and you better believe that if someone thinks their hair was done wrong, they will say something. Stand up for yourself! It's possible that the beautician might not do anything about it but if it means that much to you then you can take them to court and they will have to do something about it. Good luck!
Heck yeah you should complain! It's their job to make you happy with your new hair style. My stylist always asks me if it looks alright, and if it doesn't, she'll change it! I would definitely complain about it especially since you paid so much for it. I stopped going to high priced places because their work wasn't worth the price I had paid for it. Sometimes it's really better off to go to a less expensive place where you aren't just another head of hair. They'll usually treat you better and are more concerned about what looks right on you and for you.
if you aren't satisfied you have every right to go back and have them correct their mistake.
Yes you should complain. Just go back and say that its not what you asked for, I had that problem once and the salon corrected the colour there and then. A good stylist or salon will correct the colour to what you asked for, after all you spent a lot of money. Just be polite but firm.
yes u should complain because you payed for it and you should get what you pay for
Its your hair so its definatly important that you like it. Nice or not for $215.00 you have every right in the world to go back and complain...
    GO BACK!!!!

My sister is a hair stylist and she has always told us that for the amount of money that we spend on making our self's look great - We should get what we ask for. If your not happy, for the most part the touch-up will be free.
I had the exact thing happen to my hair and I was so mad I didn't care if I hurt the stylist feelings. I would go in there and say, you know I got home and was looking at my hair and it is not what I wanted. Say I was a little shocked when I left the salon but thought I would sleep on it and see how I felt the next day. Tell him you appreciate what he was trying to do but you really need him to fix it. people do it all the time. $215.00 is alot spend on hair you are not so happy with you can't stop lookingin the mirror. Don't correct it yourself because you don't have to pay for the stylist mistake. Plus you never know how it will turn out.
ABSOLOUTLY go straight back that is what i would they will most likely do your hair again for you but do not accept this unless you cannot get your money back if you get your money back go straight to somewhere else that has been highly reccomended.... HAY why dont you ask on yahoo q%26amp;a if anybody knows a good hair sallon in your area hope this advice helped

As a hairdresser, I wonder what do you like most about going to the salon?

What do clients tend to look forward to the most?As a hairdresser, I wonder what do you like most about going to the salon?
wat i dont like is that they talk to damn much lol i just want to relax while i get my hair done, i like when they wash it and give you a scalp massageAs a hairdresser, I wonder what do you like most about going to the salon?
I met my current hairdresser / barber 29 years ago, and he was so natural in his attitude, not having to make some impression on me, and he quickly understood what I wanted done to my hair, which is so extremely simple, such that I wanted to return to him instead of risking another new hairdresser / barber, and so I returned to him again and again and again, and we got to know each other to some extent that I enjoyed visiting with him when I did need a haircut, thereby keeping me comfortable going there over and over. Now, 29 years later, we've kept up with our families' developments and our personal ones, such that I truly feel he is my friend, even though the only time I see him is when I get a haircut, which he said was about once every 5 weeks. Of course, I kid with him when I remind him that when I first came to him so long ago, I actually had a full head of hair, and it was all dark brown, as was my moustache and beard that I had back then, and I laugh, saying, ';I gave you the best years of my life, and look what you've done to me!!'; (see my pic). I've seen some really beautiful women hairdressers that I've often been tempted to go to, but, I can see them from my barber's chair and I won't lose our friendship just because I gave some beautiful woman my business. God Bless you.
I like a cute atmosphere, cleaniliness, a friendly vibe, great products, instructions on how-to at home, and a perfect cut of course!
    The time...

For anywhere from 30 mins to two hours they are free from any other distractions.

Pamper your clients. Even if it is just for a bang trim. Remember,They pay your bills.
when they wash my hair.. so nice lmao

umm i really like hairdressers who listen to what you want but also give suggestions about what might suit you.

Always smile. wish customers a nice day or pleasant evening

when dealing with rude customers, keep your composure. They're not worth it.

always speak correct grammar and speak clearly and articulately

when taking a message for an employee, always get the number of the caller and the best time to call back

always say please, thank you, your welcome, etc to customers

be stylish but do NOT overdo the make up or the hair care products or perfume

good luck! How can I be a better hair salon receptionist? Serious answers only please!?
Try to accommodate your tasks. Set a time frame between all the tasks you perform. If you have nothing to do, Just go around and revise everything is good. Just keep a schedule as to how you manage your time.
I always think the best receptionists are the ones that are nice to everyone. If your positive, nice, and are always willing to help, I think that's what they want.

    Skin Test for Salons?

I am going to Burlingtons in Manchester on Saturday and they sent me a skin test which i have to wear for 48 hours before the appointment. How can i prevent it coming off? i have put in underneath my forearm near the elbow crease. im worried of it peeling off. How do i stop it coming off, especially in the shower?Skin Test for Salons?
Im not sure but you could also place a bit behind your ear, as you will have the less tendency to touch it if you can not see it, or maybe if it is on your arm you could cover it with cling film maybe, stupid idea but couldnt hurt trying. Hope it helped :)Skin Test for Salons?
First of all the salon shouldn't have sent it out to you , thay should of put it on themselves , ( thay wont be covered if you have a reaction, skin tests HAVE to be done in the salon by the stylist) other than that place it behind your ear on the crease ( ear and arm ) are the most sensitive places and if you were to get a reaction than these are the two places to find out , it wont peel off when you have a shower after 10 Min's after putting it on it will start to go hard and stain your skin - so a lot of rubbing is needed to take it off , if you do have a reaction to it , it will happen more or less straight away - go to doctors if you do ( reaction is itching , burning, swelling of the face ) trust me you will now if you have a reaction ,

personally i would ring the salon up and get them to put it on you .
You can get surgital tape to hold it on. This stuff is mega sticky and designed to keep dressings on after an op, they are kept on for as long as a week! It is easy to take off when the time comes, not like a plaster, this stuff is quitr maliable and if peeled slowly doesn't hurt at all!
put some tape around it the one the doctors use though...

    Tipping in Germany salons?

So you tip your hair dresser in Germany? Also if you do, about how much? I am looking to get my hair cut, styled and highlighted. Back in the US we would tip around 20% but I know Germany is different on their tipping since most times service charge is included in the price.Tipping in Germany salons?
You don't need to tip but most of us do.

Usualy when you pay the bill at the cashire there is a tip box for either all employees or for each of them.

Depending on the service I use to give 2-5 鈧?br>

But again you don't need to give anything and nobody will be mad with you if you don'tTipping in Germany salons?
Going to a hair dresser in Germany can turn out to be a costly pastime so I usually am very moderate when it comes to tipping the staff. I tend to give 1,50-2 鈧?and that's fine.

But I agree with the first posting, you don't have to do it...but most of us do anyway...
Buttons is correct those who thumb her down are envious of us americans it is well known we know everything and our education system is the best in the world!
Yes most the time service charges are built in, but a extra tip shows a job well done and appreciation.

Most people are grateful for anything.

We tip our hairdresser a few Euro. So about 7-10%

It's not what you say, it's what you show. Bring in a reference picture of the hair you want. A stylist's imagination is different from your's, and most stylists love it when clients bring in pictures. A picture to a stylist is like a reference image to an artist--- absolutely essential! What should I say to the salon to have a hair jsut like the famous asian group F4?
Don't try and copy their hair exactly because she has her hair done professionally all the time. Also she may have a different kind of hair. But if you want to try and get your hair similar just bring in pictures of her hair and ask them to cut your hair like that and tell you how to keep it that way.
there are 4 guys in F4. which one u want???

in my opinion, jerry yan has the best hair than others.

why don't u type the name u like the best in yahoo search then print the picture and give it to the hair dresser??

i think it's the best way u can do..
Find pictures online, go to different websites and try to get a few angles. It would be easier just to show the hairdresser a picture so they understand clearly what you are looking for.

Which French Realist was it that set up his own exhibition because the Salon rejected him?

I know this is probably a really easy question but I can't remember who it was! Courbet?

Also if you know what the name of this exhibition was or anything, feel free to inform me!Which French Realist was it that set up his own exhibition because the Salon rejected him?
Courbet, but he wasn't rejected by the Salon. it was hanging committee for the exhibition at the Exposition Universelle of 1855 that rejected a few paintings.

    From;

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Cou鈥?/a>

    ';In 1855, Courbet submitted fourteen paintings for exhibition at the Exposition Universelle. Three were rejected for lack of space, including A Burial at Ornans and his other monumental canvas The Artist's Studio. Refusing to be denied, Courbet took matters into his own hands: he displayed forty of his paintings, including The Artist's Studio, in his own adjacent gallery called The Pavillion of Realism, which was a temporary structure he erected next door to the official Salon like Exposition Universelle. Although artists like Eug猫ne Delacroix were ardent champions of his effort, the public came mostly out of curiosity and to deride him. Attendance and sales were disappointing, but Courbet's status as a hero to the French avant-garde became assured.';

    It was Courbet.

Is it ok to use other brands of heat protector spray with ghd salon styler IV hair straighteners ?

ive ran ou of GHD heat protector spray and i cant afford it until next tuesday but will it be ok to use other brands of it until i can get it ? It wont damage my straighteners will it lol ?Is it ok to use other brands of heat protector spray with ghd salon styler IV hair straighteners ?
I wouldn't think it will damage your hair straighteners at all..

The only reason that GHD straighteners suggest their GHD heat protector spray is so that you buy it (it is way overpriced too!)

Other heat protector sprays do the same thing for less money. I'm sure you could find one just as good for like, 10-15 bucks! Don't worry, it's only a gimmick anyways. No worries ! :)

    Hope this helps you.

  • Cheapest hair salons?

I need to get my hair styled for an event and everywhere seems really expensive! Does anyone know of any really cheap places for like an updo for an event? NOT haircuts just styling. Cheapest hair salons?
You should be able to get this done at a beauty college. Ask for a student who is about to graduate because they have the most experience. You should be able to get it done for under $30.Cheapest hair salons?
Since we do not know where you, how much you are willing to spend or how you want your hair styled, we can not answer this question.

    Please, provide more information.

Is there such a difference between salon shampoo and ordinary shop shampoo?

You get what you pay for when it comes to yor hair! Im cheap on a lot of things but this is not one of them. I used pantene for years because it made my hair soft but if you put it in the microwave you will see that the conditioner has a lot of wax. Store bought shampoo and conditioner that makes your hair feel soft may be leaving a heavy build up on your hair. Matrix has the best products and if you buy them from the salon there is usually a sale on them when you buy both.Is there such a difference between salon shampoo and ordinary shop shampoo?
the price...Is there such a difference between salon shampoo and ordinary shop shampoo?
Salon shampoo is better quality than ordinary shampoo. But salon shampoo is more expensive.
salon shampoo is cheap and nasty
    The price
salon products tend to have better quality ingredients and are more concentrated,so theoretically last longer because you need less product.saying that LUSH products are good especially their solid shampoo bars-last ages and smell lush!
difference in price but otherwise pretty much the same. i spent a small fortune on dear hair prducts and they were just the same if not worse then shop brands
Yes, salon shampoos are much better quality, contain far less chemicals %26amp; plastics %26amp; are kinder to the hair. They are highly concentrated so you only need to use a small amount each time. So whilst they might seem more expensive they work out more cost effective in the long run. Also your stylist is the best person to ';prescribe'; which shampoo or conditioner is best for your hair type/condition. Somebody working in Boots or Tescos hasn't had the training we've had %26amp; doesn't have a working knowledge of your hair.

Pantenne for instance contains a plastic that coats the hair thus giving the false appearance of healthy hair. Salon shampoos will actually improve the condition of your hair rather than ';papering over the cracks';.
i never buy salon shampoo too expensive...
no, and people who buy into it are dumb. pantene and tresseme are both really good but affordable brands that some salons use and some offer, but are still much cheaper than the ';salon'; brands. only things to avoid are like sauve and stuff.
Big difference in price. At least in Canada for sure. Brand Names are good, just gotta read what you are getting. Best one to this day, believe it or not is Baby Shampoo, it's the cheapest and the finest. Notice I didn't mention any Brand Names.

Can anyone recommend a good nail salon for pink & whites in Tampa, FL?

I live in the Carrollwood area of Tampa Bay and am in search of a good nail salon for pink %26amp; whites. I've been to two different salons in Tampa, and the first one in Int'l Plaza was painful, and the 2nd one in Carrollwood always seems rushed. The best pink %26amp; whites I've had done were in Naples, and that's quite the commute :) The Carrollwood area would be ideal. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I'm not sure how much it costs there, but where I work we charge $70 %26amp; up for highlights or lowlights depending on how long your hair is. If you want them done at the same time, than we would charge $85 %26amp; up.

Leeds Alabama? Awesome. I'm from Alabama too. I'm not sure about the salon though.

How do you get blue highlights in brown hair without going to the salon?

extensions are cool. but if want to dye it, having brown hair youll probably have to bleach it first. i wouldnt go to hot topic for the dye i used their blue dye, it wouldnt stay in my hair and it stained my neck. i did find some really kool stuff online called special effects. just make sure if you do bleach it and dye it to use a really good deep conditioner. there is this treatment you can get at your local beauty supply store called aphoge, its really good stuff. they make the 6 week treatment you only use right before you do ao chemical process to your hair and they also have excellent shampoo and conditioner. hope to be of some help. when you do it you should send me a pic of it. i think its gonna be awesome!!How do you get blue highlights in brown hair without going to the salon?
well sometimes, depending on the brand in order for it to work really well, u would have 2 bleach where u want it colored cuz i got blue highlights that i did at home and it recommended that i bleach it first, but i didnt so it turned out kind of green and dull. but a brand would show on the box how it would turn out in your color hair and here is the website, i just dont think there is any blue...

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/on/demandware鈥?/a>

but i like the purple. the brand i used was temporary which might be y it didnt turn out very well. but idk i hope this helps.

How do you get blue highlights in brown hair without going to the salon?
1.First bleach the parts that you want blue.

Mix Clairol BW2 and a volume 30 developer, paint in the steaks or use foils. Leave in until the hair turns very light blonde.

2.Next use a toner, if you don't the blue will end up green.

3.Then put blue dye on the blond peices of hair.

The longer you leave it, the longer the color will last.

Manic Panic and Special Effects have the best blue dyes.
ok , theres two ways ,

you can buy the color boxes from zehrs or whereever .

    OR

you can put lemon juice in parts of your hair and sit out in the sun ,

the natural acids in lemon lighten hair ,
dye the bits of your hair you want blue blonde first, because it wont come out very well in brown hair, (:

oh %26amp; if you get semi-permanent blue you will need to keep re-dyeing it or it will go green. lol
I don't think you can buy a kit with blue as a color- although I could be wrong. Try calling a beauty supply store.

Otherwise I'd say go to the kool aid. Highlights might be tricky but you can do it
Well it would be rare to find blue highlights in box's...but u can look for some...why not just go to the Salon it's better and it's not that expensive
If you want bright blue...then you have to bleach the sections that you want streaked...then add the blue dye.
Buy extensions!!!!! No damage to your hair and you can take them out or put them in when ever you want!
    obviously do it at home

I found a great hair salon in that got 5 stars up in googlemaps by 15 different people. I would say that that's pretty darn good. I think you should check it out yourself. Its either called Apartment 19 or is in Apartment 19, but you can check the reviews here yourself if you'd like.

Are deep conditioning treatments at the salon worth it?

Are they very helpful, or not worth the money? Are deep conditioning treatments at the salon worth it?
First off I wanna start out by saying that what is used in the salons is what is best for your hair. Oh yea, Dove is really gonna be better than Biolage??? GET REAL!!!!!!! I work in a salon, %26amp; we only use the best of the best for your hair. Conditioning treatments are the best in the salon. We put conditioner on your hair specifically for your hair type, then pop you under the dryer. When you come out, your hair should feel 100% better. (Depending on how bad of shape your hair's in)Are deep conditioning treatments at the salon worth it?
If you have like wicked dry hair its sooooo worth it.

I've never paid for my deep condition treatments(been getting my hair cut by the same person- who is also a close family friend- for over 10 years) but I sometimes see them for like 15dollars.

I dont do it often. I dont have very dry hair. The only reason i did get it a few times was because i used to straighten my hair like everyday and get highlights.

I sometimes use a home conditioner. Like one of the conditioners that comes with box hair dye. Herbal Essence sells it out of the dye package for 10 dollars and i totally reccomend it
They do work, just how much will vary on your hair type and how damaged it is. they wouldn't be allowed to market these products if they were a complete scam.

I use a deep conditioning treatment on my hair as i dye it with very harsh dye and i go swimming alot and the chlorine affects it... as well as i'm constantly bombarding it with heat and burning it into submission! And it does ravage it... you can buy good effective reasonable priced ones at any local shop, look for ones that contain coconut oils or almond oils, they are good ingrediants to include, other wise just slap loads of normal conditioner onto your hair and wrap in cling film and a small towel if you can, leave it on for as long as possible, if you can manage over night the better! cling film helps keep the heat from your head in to open up the hair folicles and really let the moisture soak in!

Before i used deep conditioning treatment my hair was awful, it snapped easily and had lost all it strength and was stretchy like rubber bands. it had lost all its shine and was frizzy and dry on the ends. i was at a loss what to do, so just left it assuming i'd just ruined it. A few weeks later i went to my hair dresser for a cut and blowdry that i had booked and at seeing how bad my hair was my hair dresser put a deep conditioner on it for free (i know all of them wont do this unfortunatley) but it DID help, it wasn't a miracle cure but it stopped it from getting worse and did make it smoother, softer, less stretchy and just in general, more managable. And from then on i have kept it up eversince once a week with ones i buy for under 拢5. and they last too, even if i do slap it on like theres no tommorrow! I personally think they do help, if anything it'll stop your hair from getting any more damaged or feeling and looking worse. After all surely adding any extra moisture to not so happy hair can only be a good thing right? :)

Hope this helps, all the best.

    Indz
no they arent worth it. now a days they have shampoos that can give you a deep conditioning over time. they are much less expensive. if you want an instant result the treatment at the salon is not so bad. try using Dove hair renewal shampoo and conditioner. they can help you, and they dont cost too much.
of course they are worth it. im a hairdresser and we only use whats best for our clients. the professional stuff is the real stuff and its not going to be a scam because most salons truely do care about their clients and the health of their hair
No, it's a waste of time and money. You will have no difference in your hair. It's best to just go and buy your own deep conditioner at a drug store.
they could be. shampoos and conditioners at salons are often going to be higher quality than regular drug store shampoos and conditioners.

  • Do hair salons cut too much?

like more than you ask for?Do hair salons cut too much?
Oh, everytime! I keep switching hairdressers for this reason. The first one cut it shorter than I wanted; I told the 2nd one to ';trim it'; and she cut it even shorter. So I let it grow out for a couple of months until it was getting out of shape and I just needed it ';shaped up.'; I told the 3rd one to please not cut it much because I have been trying to grow it back out to where it used to be, to please just thin it a little and trim it some to where it has some shape. She cut it shorter than the other 2 did and ruined the progress I had made with growing it back out. Her response was, ';I know it isn't what you want but it's what you need.'; Do hair salons cut too much?
It depends on the place and/or the specific person who's cutting your hair, because not everyone does it the same way. But sometimes, the hairstylists do cut too much, unfortunately. Just make sure you keep an eye on him/her and be adamant about how much you want cut exactly. Like, you might even want to point to where on your hair you want it cut.
sometimes..But the ONLY reason for that is because they cut wet, When your hair is wet, It stretches, So when it drys, It unstretches...OR They girl just dosen't know what she's doing.
Of course they do. It's usually because the hair stylist is jealous of you. You know she totally talks shi* about you when you leave. She probably blogs about you on MySpace.
Yeah...I said keep the length, and it was to my chest and now it's about my collar bone..it's stupid...

    Eyebrow Threading Salons in Omaha?

I will be going to Omaha for the holidays and was wondering if anyone knows of a place that does eyebrow threading?

    ThanksEyebrow Threading Salons in Omaha?
What in the world is eyebrow threading?Eyebrow Threading Salons in Omaha?
Go to the most ethnic or middle eastern urban areas, there you might find a salon that does it. Go on Yahoo yellow pages and call a bunch of places.
No.. I dont think you will have any luck. There are millions of places here in California where I get mine done..
I can never understand why women pluck their eyebrows off only to have to draw them on, or resort to such a radical procedure to replace them!!! DUH!!!

Does nebraska law require that a salon employee is entitled to min wage or commssion or which ever is higher?

no, depends on how you were hired. If you are on their payroll, then yes they would have to pay you up to min wage if your tips dont make that much.

But more than likely you were brought on as an independent contractor. In which case you own your own business and they owe you nothing.

Do I have to be a licensed cosmetologist just to work in a salon in Michigan?

I'm just curious about that because I am 17 and i can't get into cosmetology school right now because I dont live near the school and I cant find a job anywhere else around here. So i was just wondering if its possible to get a job in a salon with out being licensed..Do I have to be a licensed cosmetologist just to work in a salon in Michigan?
yes you sure can.. you need the licence if you want to start a parlour but when you want to work somewerhe you dont need to carry one unless the owner of the parlour asks for one and they usually dont...

gud luck :)Do I have to be a licensed cosmetologist just to work in a salon in Michigan?
yes. it cost 100.00 for the last part of the test. I live in Michigan also. have a good day
You can get a job as the receptionist without a license. Most states allow you to be an assistant as well, but I don't know specifically about Michigan.

Is there a way to make your hair thinner without going to a salon?

Me and my family are a bit broke at the moment, so i don't wanna have to go to a salonIs there a way to make your hair thinner without going to a salon?
There are certain types of scissors called Thinning Shears. They thin out your hair without cutting the whole thing! Thats what i use cuz my hir is soooo thick! Hope this helps! Is there a way to make your hair thinner without going to a salon?
not really, i mean, you can always buy hair products at the local drugstore that promise to 'make your hair thinner and smoother in just one week!', but to be honest, those don't work very often.

the only way to safely and appropriately thin out your hair is to get it done professionally. sorry.
use a razor, dont get too crazy

How to manage a mini salon?

I'm a mother of 2. I would like to open a beauty salon one day, but i dont think i'm ready for it now coz i'm still working full time. So, i'm thinking of opening a mini salon at my own house for a start (and train myself) and also to boost my confident level. And if i've enough money and clients i can open a proper beauty salon, right? So, i need help on what is the best way to start or manage a mini salon? Thanks a million. How to manage a mini salon?
Great idea for making a little extra money for your household.

Day spa services and products are best. A quite room with calm music playing while you offer hand and foot massages along with mini-facials would be great. Everyone loves to be pampered. You can also increase your income by offering skin care and beauty products. I sell a line of botanically based beauty products called Arbonne. You could use them on your customers and offer to sell them take home kits as well. This could be a great source of extra revenue. Message or email me for more information.

    Good salons in Michigan?

Is there a difference between salon shampoos like redken and department store shampoos like pantean?

I have had this debate for a long time now whether salon shampoos were really better for your hair than department store ones like pantean shampoo..

My hair is longer than sholder length and i regularly get highlights put in and want to use the best shampoo out there, but at a cheap price.

Anyone help i need some advice?! thanks :)Is there a difference between salon shampoos like redken and department store shampoos like pantean?
First, Pantene is horrible. It doesn't ';damage'; your hair but it does leave a waxy buildup. That is why it makes it look shiny. Non-ammonia colors (like Shades EQ) wash right out within days because the hair is so coated.

Drugstore brands don't damage hair but they are cheaper for a reason. All shampoo has basically the same main ingredients. The difference is the concentration of the good ingredients. That's why professional products cost more. They are more concentrated so they will do the job better, you won't need to use as much, and because of this they last longer. If you really want to make your hair healthy, professional products will work better because they are formulated better. More active ingredients, less fillers. Is there a difference between salon shampoos like redken and department store shampoos like pantean?
Hmm.. best and cheap don't belong in the same sentence!!

Yes, there is a difference -- they are made by different companies. :-)

Redken used to be very good, but since L'Oreal bought them, they have changed drastically. It's still alright, better than most, but not as good as it once was. Any commercial product (on the drugstore shelf) has to be poorer quality because there is such an overhead on the product.

Salon products usually are better since they don't have as much advertising or costs in distribution. They are made for the professional, who has higher standards than do most people. People want pretty colours and nice smell!!

You would do well to find Nexxus or Focus21 products. They may be more expensive, but you normally use much less, so it goes a long way. They actually work, when most ';pretty'; products are only for marketing, and don't do anything good for your hair.
This is an EXCELLENT question. In my experience, hair operators will tell you that drug store hair care products are crap, that they dry out your hair etc etc, but, when I say, ';I've been using Pantene for years...does my hair feel/look damaged?'; and they always grudgingly say no. I suspect their profit margin on salon products is ENORMOUS.

Meanwhile, with that being said, I did have one lady admit that if I INSISTED on buying my hair care products from the drug store, that Dove brand is better than Pantene which is what I had been using. I figured she didn't have any reason to talk up one brand over another, and that she must have seen some research.

So, I switched to Dove. I use the formula for color treated hair. I must say, my hair does feel wonderful. I hated to leave Pantene, because I always felt that it did well for me, but Dove was better.

I dread the end of the haircut when they start asking you what kind of shampoo you use, hoping to lead you into the ';our stuff is better'; conversation, and here's how I end it: ';What kind of shampoo do you use?'; ';I'm okay on product right now....thanks.'; and that's that.
Uhhh Yes I have 2 different sets of redken shampoo and ocndtioners on my dresser as we speak!!! lol and yes theres a big differenece I just get rid of all my Pantene ;( well I finished it.. Redken is More high end and well, Performs WAYYYY Better But Pantene is great too but It's eithr Pay 13 bucks for both shampoo and condtioner or 4 bucks?

I use Redken, but not Im in Herbal Essencse ;) Im looking for a protein treatment thoough and I know one or both of them are going to be from Redken ;) redken is areally great line... and well worth the money

How much do you get for working as a hairdresser at a salon weekly and yearly?

it all depends on what salon you are working at....higher end salons you would make more per service thus more in tips making your weekly and yearly income higher...lower end chain salons you would make less money...although you usually don't have to pay rent on your station at the chain salons because you make an hourly wage rather than working off what your customers pay you like you would at a higher end (or privately owned place) where you pay a monthly or weekly station rental fee.How much do you get for working as a hairdresser at a salon weekly and yearly?

i would reccomend looking up your salons website/call them to see what they charge. How much is it to get your hair done at a Hair Salon?
In the U.S where i go to get your hair dyed it costs $65 for one color and $70 dollars for 2 and so on and that's at every hair salon in the town i live in. For just a hair cut its 12-15 dollars.
about 20 i think.last time i went to a canadian salon it was 20 to cut and 55 to dye your hair but they are really good, cuz the dye last long and the peps who cuts it are pros
personally i've never had a good expirience at chatters so i would go to a different salon, but

dyed all one color 40-80 depends on length

streaks 60-120 depends on colors and full head or not
    probably 25-30 dollars

    :]
It depends what you want done to it!

Where in the Virgin Islands is ideal for opening a waxing salon?

Somewhere trendy...Where in the Virgin Islands is ideal for opening a waxing salon?
I think just about any of the US Virgin Islands would work but you'd get a lot more business on St. Thomas or St. John. I have to warn you though that you'd find yourself competing with a number of hairdressers who offer this service.Where in the Virgin Islands is ideal for opening a waxing salon?
Check out the BVI area. Virgin Gorda or Tortola.

    Good Luck)
St. John is probably the most trendy of the islands. There are already at least 2 salons that perform this service is existence here, but we do have a small population of hobbits that could use some help!

  • What is the difference in a pedicure from a discount nail salon and one from a spa?

You'll need to read what is performed for what you pay. Sometimes there is no difference in the service, you might be paying for: that nicer chair you sit on, the longer length of time it takes for the service to be performed in order to feel pampered, high rent on the location maybe?, etc., etc.

    You get it.

    Pepper.

What do you use at tanning salons?

in terms of tanning lotion/oil? can you use like hawaiian tropic indoor tanning oil or do you have to use what they have at the salon? and do you have to like clean it up if it's oily? thanks, sorry for all the questions, i've never tanned at a tanning salon and i want to use tanning oil...What do you use at tanning salons?
You don't have to use what they sell at the salon. Just make sure whatever you use is for indoor tanning, because indoor tanning takes a much different toll on your skin than outdoor tanning. The bulbs are practically an inch away from your self and you don't want to harm your skin. You don't have to clean the booth afterwords, they have employees who do that. They should be cleaning after every person who uses it for health reasons! Just make sure to also close your eyes or use goggles so you don't damage your sight. Start off only going in for a short length of time and then build up too, or else you might burn. What do you use at tanning salons?
Murphy was right. But just remember to bring a moisturizer with you to put on after you are done. You're skin will dry out very easily after tanning so you need to moisturize the minute you get out.
Use tanning lotions specifically made for tanning beds. I use Australian Gold tanning lotion. Just rub it in like regular lotion and by the time you're done in the bed, you should be dry. Oils will damage the tanning bed.
don't use tanning oil, it'll ruin the bed.

%26amp; no, you don't have to use what they have, just make sure whatever you use is for -indoor- tanning that''s all, lol.

    hope i helped!
I use oil and I dont clean it up They get paid to clean up after you! I tan a lot and I use indoor oil! You dont have to use what they sell they just reccomend it

  • Why does my skin smell weird after going to a tanning salon?

This happens no matter if I tan for 8 minutes or 25 minutes! It doesn't seem to matter if I use lotion or not! Its an odd burnt smell, not really sweaty, and sometimes if you don't scrub super good, you can still smell it after showering! Do I have hypersensitive smell, odd skin or WHAT?!Why does my skin smell weird after going to a tanning salon?
You are helping your skin to age faster! It has been proven that tanning beds speed up skin cancer and aging of the skin. Stop doing it and just tan naturally but with sunblock. Tanning beds are not good for you.Why does my skin smell weird after going to a tanning salon?
    well dont tan, then.
    you're cooking your skin...
CUZ U AINT SPOSE TO b GOIN 2 NO Damn tannin salon!...what iz wrong wit u fools?!
Tanning is harmful to the skin. It increases the risk of skin cancer. When the skin turns dark and red, that is a sign of damage.
Oh yes the cooked fleshy smell! I suggest you STOP before its too bad! Jergens lotion and mystic tan will get you what you want!
the outer layer of your skin is being burned.
That's the smell released by the cancer cells as they explode into life just beneath the surface of your skin.

    Go with a sunless tanner.
Because you're frying your skin, and your body is trying to get you to STOP! The smell is a warning. Tanning salons are not the answer.
It is the smell of cooked flesh and lotion get use to it!
    Could be cancer.
it is not cancer!! That is the smell of your skin cooking from the UV lights
