How long does a Controlled Messy Hairstyle last after going to salon?

it depends on how humid it is or what you do after you get out if the salon it should be fine unless it raining or something like that

    google your question

Is it okay to have your nails done in the nail salon while being pregnant?

Yes :). It's not safe to work in one though, and to be breathing everything in all the time. But to just get your nails done for an hour or so is perfectly fine.Is it okay to have your nails done in the nail salon while being pregnant?
Yep! Totally OK!!Is it okay to have your nails done in the nail salon while being pregnant?
Yes, I see pregnant women in them ALL the time and not just for nails. As long as you aren't breathing the chemicals on a daily basis you are fine! If you want to take procautions just wear a mask like some of the nail techs do!
it is safe. But if you dont feel confortable ask if you can have a mask to cover your nose and mouth. Ive seen a pregnant lady with a mask over her nose and mouth while getting her nails done.
mmm i dont think it would be wise to inhale all that nail dust and chemical smell... but i guess i wouldn't do it. besides if you plan to keep them up its not safe with the baby since you can scratch the baby and fake nails store alot of bacteria under them
No - It's not safe to breath the fumes
Yup... I get mine done every month!
sure!! every pregnant woman should have a little pampering
    i dont see why not
    i should think so

If i bought human hair extensions and brought them to a salon would they atttch them for me?

if i bought them off the internet? because i'm sure the salons jack up the price of the extension and then still charge you for the service of attatching the hair. so if i bought them and then broguht the extensions to the salon do you think that they would put them on for me and then just charge me for the service? If i bought human hair extensions and brought them to a salon would they atttch them for me?
As a stylist and Salon Business Consultant.

Yes- Some are trained with great leangths and other salon only brands but I doubt in this economy anyone would say no. Just make sure you're clear about the brand and type of glue or bonding agent is used. Make sure they are trained to do the service 80% or more of stylist are clueless on the procedure. If i bought human hair extensions and brought them to a salon would they atttch them for me?
    Deffinaly.

    They will charge for anything.

But yeah they will attach them.

are they clip on?if there not then

If you go to sally beauty supply, bring in your extensions and ask them for clips for them.

they can teach you how to put the clip on the extensions and use one of there sample to teach you how to put them on. there much easier.

at sallys the clips will probably round up to be 2 bucks each but i suggest to buy the clips, more easier and cheaper then going to the salon.
Yes, they will attach the extensions to your hair. I did a hairstyle for my cousin's graduation and I wore human hair extensions. My hair didn't come out as I wanted it. It was not able to curl, every time is just went straight, and I believed it burned.
Yes, I do at my Salon.. Although some advice.. They are very hard on your hair and will cause breakage the better your stylist is at doing this the less it will be.. Make sure you are going to someone who knows what they are doing.......Get referals...
Different salons have different rules, go in and ask.

How Much does it cost to get a cut at ';B2V Salon'; in CA?

I saw this fabulus haircut come out from B2V salon (in Hollywood) and wondered how much dough you have to pay for it... Can anyone tell me??How Much does it cost to get a cut at ';B2V Salon'; in CA?
IDK....but it must be EXPENSIVE cuz gay dudes work there and celebs like miley cyrus and brit brit go there...(:

How can I make my hair straighter without going to a salon

I have wavy, longish hair. It tends to get quite curly sometimes and at other times it can be almost straight, but usually it's on the curlier side. How can I make it more straight without going to a salon? I found that drying it well makes it more straight but I have to dry really hard with a towel. I'm afraid blow drying would damage it and I don't want to damage my hair. What do you suggest? How can I make my hair straighter without going to a salon
Use a blow dryer and a round brush, and style your hair like that after you've washed it. Or, get a straightener. I have a GVP straightener from Sally's Beauty Supply, and I love it! It keeps my hair soo straight. It was only $60. But be sure if you try one of these, use a very good heat protectant spray. I use Beyond the Zone, Flat Iron Protection.

Hope this helpedHow can I make my hair straighter without going to a salon
As everyone else mentioned, you should really try looking

into buying a flat-iron (straightener). Don't go for the ';Chi';'s,

although everyone has one. They work great, yes, but break so

easily and leave your hair dead and smelling like wet rust.

By the way your hair sounds, I'd get ANY straightener (no, it

doesn't matter which one you buy, regardless of what people

may tell you), that at least heats up to two-hundred degrees F.

You'll need to get a flat-iron spray (to help keep your hair

shiny, smooth, and to keep that rusty smell away), so I'd

recommend the flat-iron spray by ';Tresemme';. You can

find this at your local Wal-mart or CVS store. Just

spray it on the area you will straighten (especially the ends

of your hair, you will NOT want any white split-ends, trust me).

Straightening your hair might take a little practice,

but you really get use to it. Just make sure to use

the spray so your hair won't be harmed.

    Best of luck!
you can get a strightner anywhere like walmart kmart use one of those and hairspray
Straighteners work wonders ;). But wavy hair is bea-utiful !
    Straighteners
A straightener is a good thing. I have stick straight brunette hair but if my hair gets frizzy I use my straightener

  • Do guys go to Hair Salons?

Seems like a girl thing, but I want a COMPLETELY diffrent hair style, and I don't know where to go, since costcutters seems cheap to me...Do guys go to Hair Salons?
Absolutely. Most places -- at least in the Northeast anyway -- are unisex places. You see more of them now than old-fashioned barber shops. The other answerers are correct but I thought it might be reassuring for you to hear it from another guy. I'm 56 and straight as an arrow and haven't been inside an old-style barber shop in twenty-five or thirty years. See if you can find a place where a lot of guys go and take a picture with you of what hairstyle you want. There are any number of websites you can Google that have men's hairstyles on them. Nothing wrong with caring how you look.

    Good luck.

MikeDo guys go to Hair Salons?
yes wile I was there at a salon I saw lots of guys getting there hair cut it's normal hope I made you feel better about going to the salon =^..^=
yes guys can go, but there aren't many. but ya guys definitely go.
Yes, All the time...Just like Women go to Barbers all the time, Which is seen as a 'mens only' salon.
Of course they do! It is a unisex place.

Working at a tanning salon while pregnant?

I know it is not considered safe to actually tan while pregnant, but what about just working at a tanning salon. Is it ok to work around tanning beds but not tan in them?Working at a tanning salon while pregnant?
Yes, I think it should be fine.Working at a tanning salon while pregnant?
Yes, working at a tanning salon is absolutely fine. Just be careful though. I used to work at one and know that you have to wipe down the booths before another person enters it so if your the one doing that, make sure your not breathing in the chemicals or be sure to wear a mask if you absolutely have to do it. Also, as odd as it sounds and just as a precaution, I wouldnt do it but my sister-in-law was told that she was able to tan once a week during her pregnancy. I dont think they want your body temperature to rise, but the UV lights only change your top layer of skin. They cannot effect the baby.
I'm sure its perfectly safe if your not using them, I'm a hairdresser and not pregnant but a friend of mine has had a baby and were working with a lot of chemicals and breathing it in and her baby was completely healthy. Don't worry hun :)
Oh yes your fine! When I was pregnant with my 2nd baby I worked at a video/ tanning place and I cleaned the beds after they were used,of course I would wear gloves when I cleaned them, I worked there up until a week before I gave birth. So your good!!
The tanning beds are in rooms by themselves when they are one. When you clean them, they are off so that shouldn't hurt the baby. I would check the cleaning solution you use to make sure that is safe.
It would be okay to work around tanning beds but what solution are you using to clean the beds? That may be harmful to you. Other than that I don't see why not! GOOD LUCK!!!!
Yeah, as long as you aren't tanning you'll be fine...
    You should be fine.
yes its fine. just don't lay in one.

I just got my hair blowdryed and straightened at the salon, how can I keep it like this till monday ?

I don't wanna ruin it when I go to sleep so what can I do to maintain it for a while ?I just got my hair blowdryed and straightened at the salon, how can I keep it like this till monday ?
be careful... don't get it wet try no to play with it a lot or go in the car with the windows open. if it does get a little curly then take a straightener and touch it up. that what i do with my hair and it works pretty well.I just got my hair blowdryed and straightened at the salon, how can I keep it like this till monday ?
    It might get greasy.

If it doesn't, keep it in a bun at all times (while you sleep and during the day) . Avoid going outside if it's really humid, and never go outside if it's pouring rain.

If it gets greasy and you have to wash it, get out your blowdryer (not the cheap ones that dry out hair), section your hair and blowdry it with a round brush.
    Hiia

I suggest sunday night yhoo wash your hair blow dry it and then by each layer of a bit of hair leave it down put rest up and then use the straightners to get it straight then put another layer down and then keep putting layers of hair down and straightening it and sleep on it and then in the morning any not straight bits re-do !

    Lol

    StarLight.x
thats not meant to stay in for 3 days so there isnt a whole lot you can do. sorry.
Keep your hair tight with a band and don't let anything, like rain, water, or dust to touch you hair.

What is a good salon for curly hair in the buena park/fullerton area of Orange County (california)?

I really need to find someplace to get my hair cut and get some good products..and all of the supposedly good salons are good for straight hair, not curly. I need to go somewhere where the stylist KNOWS and maybe even HAS curly hair. any help? What is a good salon for curly hair in the buena park/fullerton area of Orange County (california)?
You could go to the Frederic Fekkai salon in Beverly Hills.

Going to the hair salon for the first time?

A (male) college student going there for the first time. I have no idea what to prepare for if I'm supposed to prepare for anything. I would love to hear comments about tips and what not. After the haircut, would I give her the tip and then on my way out, pay at the counter?

Also, I know how I want my hair done and wondering if I can go there with my hair styled/gel'd beforehand to show her how I want it to look. Is this acceptable?

Appointments necessary? The typical price for an ordinary haircut? I don't need anything special at all, just to get my hair a bit shorter and trimmed down.

Thanks!Going to the hair salon for the first time?
Yes, go in with your hair styled essentially the way you want it, except for slightly too long. (It's also okay to take in a photo, or several, from different angles, of your hair when it was perfect.)

Even at a place that welcomes walk-ins, appointments are the way to go, since they get in before any walk-ins.

They'll cover you with a plastic cape-thingie, shampoo you, then do the cut, and blow-dry it with a little styling product, so you'll look good when you leave.

Tip the stylist as you leave his/her work station or chair, then pay at the counter or reception desk. That's the norm, but if you've gone to a place where the stylists rent space and are paid individually, they'll let you know to pay them directly.

The price varies wildly. My husband pays about $13 before tips at a discount place where no stylist stays for long. I've paid as much as $55--for the best damned haircut of my life. It's perfectly appropriate to ask the price for a haircut before you make an appointment. I think the last one I got professionally was about $25. Since my haircut is about the easiest there is--straight across my back--it was too much.Going to the hair salon for the first time?
It is helpful for a new stylist to see ';typical you';, so you should do your hair the way your normally would, and if you have a favorite photo of yourself bring that too.

When I get my haircut, I pay at the counter. If the salon allows me to add a tip to my credit card payment, I do that. If not, I walk back to my stylist and hand her cash.

Tip like you would in a restaurant - 10% is seen as cheaper side of avg. I give $5 for a $30-$40 haircut. Your haircut should be less expensive because you are a man - unless you're in NYC.
You've never been to a hair salon? lol

You should tip the hair stylist, about 10% of what you pay them for the haircut, or just give them about a 8$ tip, if you're going to a beauty salon that isn't ';fancy';. You can go into the hair salon with your hair gelled to show them, but I suggest your find a picture on the internet to show them. Appointments depend on the salon, some allow walk-ins, and the typical price for a hair cut is about 12 bucks at a normal beauty salon.
wtf, walk in, sit down, get your hair cut, pay, leave. it's all quite simple.
First thing, DON'T PANIC you'll love i'm sure there will be loads of fit girls! Anyway, the tips thing - it all depends on what the salon is like. If it has a tips jar on the counter then put it in when you pay, or at the end if you pay at the start. If not pay the person who does your hair and if they say otherwise, be cool! Next thing - depends if your having a wash and cut or just a cut. If you are having a wash and cut and you style your hair how you like with easy wash out gel you should be ok but if your just having a cut you could take a picture in with your hair how you like it.

Appointments - i think you'll need an appointment. But again it depends on the salon. I'd go in their first see what it's like maybe ask them some questions about it then see if you need an appointment.

Typical price - wouldn't know being a girl! If you go in their FIND OUT!

    Hope that helps!
It's not that hard. Go in, say ';Hi, I want a hair cut'; and let them do it. If they do a good job, give them a few dollars as a tip. No need to create a bunch of drama.

I have a feeling this isn't going to go well.

  • Is it a sin to go tanning at a tanning salon?

Is it a sin to go tanning at a tanning salon? Is it a sin to go tanning at a tanning salon?
only if it makes you feel good about your body. God wants you to feel ashamed and guilty at all times. Is it a sin to go tanning at a tanning salon?
That would depend on your reason for getting a tan. If you are getting a tan to look better, then that would be the sin of vanity which is one of the seven deadly sins.

My advice is to follow each visit to the tanning booth with a visit to the confessional booth just to be safe.

    I hope this helps.
    Of course it is one of THEIR sins. As they say, ';if you have to ask, then it must be a sin.';

ADD: I supposed they would try and convince you that Jesus never had a tan, or that Jesus would have chosen to be pale and pasty if he did not have to speak out in the sun (although I am pretty sure that the Ancient Jews were familiar with hat technology). Better yet, they might recommend you to labor under the hot sun until you pass out instead of getting a tan.
Yes, vanity is a sin and would come under Pride, one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

It is also needlessly sucking away at the planets finite resources.
    A sin, no.

Good for your skin? Also no!
Thou shalt not tan at a tanning salon.

(I think it broke off Moses' tablet)
No, but that orangish glow you come out with is extremely unholy.
I would recommend it over make up!
That would be an ecumenical matter
Some people believe doing anything is a sin.
    You betcha !
Stupid maybe, but not a sin.

    %26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
    no.
    LOL! I wouldn't think so
yes u wil get a dizys
ok since jesus came back and fufiled the law Now if you say i will never do that . you have sined

  • What is the best product to use to make your hair grow. I've tried mane & tail, salon products, hair vitamins

My hair has always taken it's good ole time growing, I dont know if it has anything to do with that I have natural curly hair. (tight curls) It seems like Ive tried everything and nothing works. If you know of anything that truely does work. let me know. What is the best product to use to make your hair grow. I've tried mane %26amp; tail, salon products, hair vitamins
GNC has a supplement called ';Nourishair'; that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.

Also ProCaps labs sells a ';hair skin and nails'; formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.

If you take only Biotin [sometimes known as ';vitamin H'; ] alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourishair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see resultsWhat is the best product to use to make your hair grow. I've tried mane %26amp; tail, salon products, hair vitamins
I lost all of my hair due to chemotherapy, I was told to use NIOXIN, you can buy it at beauty supply stores, like Sally's or most hair salons. It helps it to go, not necessarily faster , but more thick and such...its like glorified rogain haha! it is the same stuff thye use for horses for their manes! Alot of cancer patients use it. Its strong, smells strong, adn you have to be consistent with it..but give it a month or so and you will be pleased with the results!
hey huney i have curly hair to and trust me it will take some time just be patient and eat well, nothing can speed up hair growth

I like the Tigi bottles but that don't smell that good to me (Great smell is very important to me).

Biloge (I think by matrix) is OK. I don't like their conditioner. I think it should be marked down $15 because it isn't really worth the price to me. My favorite is Raha by Alexander. I know they have a website but it isn't to easy to find their products in stores. Its relatively cheap around $7-$13 for most of the products and it has by far the best conditioner I have ever tried! Get the deep conditioner. As soon as you put it on your hair all tangles disolve and you can run your fingers right through the most unmanegable hair (like mine!)

    Hope this helps!
    Have you tried DOVE?
Umm..I use infusium 23..it's ok.but the absolute best is Paul Mitchell super skinny. It makes your hair so lightwight and easy to manage. Also if you want to go cheaper, dove is pretty good too
Nexxus!! Their products are excellent- great for all hair types! But research the product first and see what you're looking for! They just recently started selling them in stores like Target and Walmart so you should be able to find them! Hope this helps! :-)
I recommend Cloud 9 by Brocato!

Its supposedly a miracle repair treatment. I used it and it fixed my hair.. which was damaged, frizzy, color treated, and just horrible!

You can find it @ Trade Secrets or @ any beauty salon that sells Brocato products.
    Tresemme!
I have hair just like yours and I like Joico or Biolage. They both work good and don't weigh down my hair..

  • DO YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR HAIR WASHED AT THE SALON?

When was the last time you had your hair washed at the hairdressers and what was the occasion?DO YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR HAIR WASHED AT THE SALON?
i normally get it washed before they cut it

it feels great and the shampoo and conditioner is good quality and makes your hair soft and silky

last time i went to the salon, i wanted my hair done in curls for an event i was attending, the curls fell out the next morning and by the time the event came around my hair was practically straight :(

but another time i wanted her to curl it and she washed it too, my curls stayed in until i washed my hair! i think the products they use hold styles better :)DO YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR HAIR WASHED AT THE SALON?
I just love it! , I am a Hairstylist and so is my husband! we own a Beauty Salon, and I am always washing my own customers, which they claim they are in 7th heaven! I guess its because I have been washing hair in a Beauty Salon since I was 14, so after many years, I guess you can call me a professional Hair washer, but to be honest, the best is when I get my husband to wash my hair, it is such a treat,I can just fall asleep ha! ha! and this was just yesterday, its the best feeling!!!!!
the sinks hurt my neck like crazy!

but i think washing your hair in the salon is better since they know how to clean the hair and scalp better.

last time i got my hair done was i think graduation day o-o
Bedore i went on vacation about two months ago. i had a haircut. I like it, but. its kind of ticklish when they start rinsing the lower part of my hair at the back near my neck. i was actually giggling. X)
I went to get a cut and they washed it for me. Sooo nice. :)
Last time was like a couple months ago.

    Just wanted to trim it.

and i do like when they scrub my head :B

it's the only time i let people touch me there.
the last time i got my hair wash was when i had to get my hair done for my brother wedding. They wash my hair for me.
I love getting my hair washed their. It's really relaxing and I usually get it washed when I'm getting a hair cut like I did two weeks ago.
I LOVE it! Last time was 6 weeks ago, for my 6 weekly maintenence ( Im a blonde), next appointment is this weekend! So looking forward 2 it :)
i got my hair trimmed and they washed itt. i love when they wash itt(:
I looove when they massage your scalp!

Do you think Salon quality Shampoos and Conditioners work better than the ones in stores?

Just curious, I asked my stylist but of course she claimed they were better. If you examine many of the expensive ones, they have the same main ingredients as the cheap ones. For those of you who have used both, do you notice a difference, and what difference? What do you use?Do you think Salon quality Shampoos and Conditioners work better than the ones in stores?
No, I really don't think so- in fact, I once spent $40 for a bottle of salon stuff that I ended up hating. I'm just as happy with my Dove from the supermarket. :)Do you think Salon quality Shampoos and Conditioners work better than the ones in stores?
    that is a good question

i don't think the shampoos and conditioners work better...i purchase the line of products that i like from a beauty supply store and then i take it in to my hairstylists and have here use the products that i buy.
They are pretty much the same. There is hardly any difference that I can see.
I used to use Tresseme and it's really good quality stuff. Suave is great if you're on a super-tight budget, like a college student but otherwise, I wouldn't reccomend it. Most Redken products are very comparable to Tresseme, and the Tresseme products are much cheaper, like $3 for a liter bottle. I now use Great Clips Solutions- White Tea and Ginger. That stuff's great. Hope this helps.
I had the same stylists for ten years, she said the difference is that the cheap ones have wax and fillers that may or maynot irritate your scalp. I cannot use the cheaper shampoos because they dry my scalp out.I like Goldwell (Keri-silk)products.They are exspensive, but I find I don't use as much and my scalp stays healthy looking.
I think Aveda is the best from the salon.....but thats my opinion
No. Personally I think that they are a con.
i think there is little difference...
ALL shampoo is the same with the exception of Prell. NEVER use that crap.

When I have the money, I prefer salon conditioner, but, since I no longer work in a salon, I use Panteen or Garnier Fructis.

So your hair will look good, have two different types of conditioner (different brands) or use a clarifying shampoo once a week.

Your hair does NOT get ';used'; to a conditioner. Your conditioner will build up in your hair and will not work as well.
hey if your hair is dry, Neutrogena Triple Moisture at walmart/drugstores is great!! but i don't recommend Suave that claimed to have the same ingredients, it was terrible.
i dunno i find salon products work better. some products from drugstores make ur hair shiny because they use a wax base... so yeah i stick with salon care products

Is there any way that I can dye my hair green permanently without going to a professional salon?

You can't dye your hair green permanently because vibrantly coloured dyes from, for example, Special Effects and Manic Panic are only considered semi-permanent and are the most widely available in N America. If you're not from the US or Canada, stores may carry different brands

I dyed my hair using Special Effects Nuclear Red. You first have to bleach the living daylights out of your hair and then apply the dye. Special Effects (which lasts considerably longer than Manic Panic) carries three Shades of green: Iguana and Limelight and well as Sonic Green, which is more teal-y. These colours are really vibrant and last a couple of months, though I have heard that green are harder than other colours to keep from fadind, touch-ups are very easy to do. It's just like painting your hair (the stuff even smells like paint).

This makes it easier if you, say, want to switch to a different colour or a different shade of green and of course, you're going to have to go back and do your roots anyway.

There is no need to go a professional salon. I did mine at home and was very pleased with the results, though, of course, there is always a risk that something could mess up. If you dye your hair green, it's implicit that you know that your hair will be a completely fried mess when you've finished and you'll probably end up staining everything including your shower, bathroom counters and your pillow because (particularly Special Effects) colour will get on everything your head touches.

That being said, the whole thing is totally worth it and the best of luck to you!Is there any way that I can dye my hair green permanently without going to a professional salon?
..............or you could just like die it a normal colour???? that could work................Is there any way that I can dye my hair green permanently without going to a professional salon?
You'd have to do a bit of research to find what compound is in copper-rich water. Blond people living in these places have their hair turned green just by normal washing.
The only way to get your hair to look really green is if its blonde. So if not, you'll have to bleach it first. Otherwise, its extremely hard to find green hair dye. Sally's or other ';beauty shops'; usually have the temporary dyes, and so does the Shed (if you have one).
You can purchase dyes at most Beauty supply stores. I perfer Special Effects, but Manic Panic is the most common. It isn't actually ';permanent'; but none of the fashion colors are.

You can make your dye last longer by using a dye friendly shampoo, reducing frequency of shampoos, Manic panic can be left on for hours instead of 20 min. DO NOT try that with Special Effects though because it has alcohol in it. Also using salon quality bleach without any toner will help the dye stay the longest and go on the brightest.
you would have to bleach your hair out completely (which is not healthy) then put the color on it and leave it for how ever long it says. but permanently is impossible cause your hair is always going to grow and you will always have roots! hope i was some help!

Do you have to tip the ower of a salon?

My hairstylist of 6 years just bought his own salon. I always heard you dont tip the owner. I don't want to be ';cheap'; but he has more money than I do. His fees are expensive. But it is my choice to go to him I understand that.Do you have to tip the ower of a salon?
i think you should tip him it does not have to be large but if you want to be nice tip him like 5$.Do you have to tip the ower of a salon?
I have always heard that you don't need to tip the owner. But they are making a living just lilke the people that work for them. I used to have the owner do my hair. And we became good friends, so sometimes I would take her out to lunch for a tip. And she would give me discounts.
The general understanding in the salon business is that the owners are not tipped. Your stylist will understand if you don't tip him. However, if you've tipped him for six years, why would you stop now? Lots of people in this world have more money than you, and lots of people have less than you, so what does that have to do with anything?
your not really supposed to tip the OWNER

but you could tip the people that did your hair, nails, etc

Can a nail salon do almost any design ?

I would like leopard print nails like the ones the Rumer Willis has. Do you think this would be possible ?Can a nail salon do almost any design ?
They can if they have airbrushing available to them, and an artistic nail techncian. Can a nail salon do almost any design ?
Take a picture in of what you would like done. Ask the manager if its possible. Don't pick the first place you go to, look around at a few stores and pick the one with the best design quality and price.
I think they could do leopard print. just sand color with brown spots and a gold outline.
If you take a pictyre they will be able to copy it. They do most patterns already though.
Depends on how good the salon is. Take a picture with you of what you would like.
It depends on which on you go to. The more expensive, the more designs they probably do

How do I straighten my hair so it looks like I just came out of the salon?

My hair is wavy and frizzy...I hate it! Whenever I go to the salon and get it straightened, it looks so nice! However, whenever I try to straighten it myself...It looks like I am a poodle! Any tips? Please help me!How do I straighten my hair so it looks like I just came out of the salon?
Blow out your hair with a ceramic round brush. Making sure to point the blow dryer down your hair, not up it will create fly aways. When all dried section your hair into small sections, starting in the back. Starting at the roots slide the flat iron down your hair. The smaller sections help cover more hair with the flat iron. How do I straighten my hair so it looks like I just came out of the salon?
first of all, flat irons are wayy overrated. forget them, you dont need one.

section your hair and blow dry it straight with a roundbrush.

second of all, the girl above me is an idiot.

just because an iron is expensive doesn't mean it is good.

CHI is horrible. They heat up way too hot and break after a year or so of use. [just for future reference]
Get a flat iron that is expensive (CHI) because they tend to work better. And before straighting your hair, put hear protecter in it so it doesnt fry. and when you are done, then put glosser in your hair so it shines but dont put too muck or it will lok greesy. Oh and get your ends cut if they are crappy.

    HOPE I HELPED!! :)

well i guess it depends on where you live i reside in Chicago and 65$ is a good price to pay a week and keep in mind we do it up big here if they charge you more they are crazy
It depends on where you live and where the salon is. I rent my booth for $120 wk usd.

How can they do these colors at the hair salon?

I have natural dark brown hair and my hair right now is light auburn and i have partial blonde highlights. I want to get this done

Do they have to dye it all dark then bleach the top or what? How long will it take and how much do they usually charge? How can they do these colors at the hair salon?
That looks like some foiling was done on that model's hair. The hair colorist applied a lighter shade of color in the front areas of her head while leaving the hair underneath dark (that gives the illusion of depth).

What it would cost? That really depends on the salon you go to, your hair length/condition and what needs to be done in order to achieve that look. Of course if your salon is ';upscale';, expect prices $60 and up. I would say the median would be $50-$125. Expect to be in the salon for about 2 hours tops. How can they do these colors at the hair salon?
That is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY 55555555000000x ugly.

    Probably.
umm yes they do it all dark then they go through and bleach parts of it
the link doesnt work for me

Is there a rinse or something I can do myself until I can get to the salon?

My hair is now dark, and my dark blonde roots are coming in. It almost makes me look like my hair is thinning. It hasn't even been 4 weeks since my last dye job. Is there something I can wash my hair with, or a type of rinse I can use until I can get back to the salon? Is there a rinse or something I can do myself until I can get to the salon?
You could try a Roux Fanciful rinse...found at Sally's...it only lasts from shampoo to shampoo. This makes sure you're not effecting the color your stylist is using. You could also ask your stylist if she does partial root touchups for a discounted price. You could just color what everyone sees in the front every other time you get color. Unless your hair is short. Is there a rinse or something I can do myself until I can get to the salon?
You might want to try a color glaze.
I've used natural instincts by clairol for that same purpose. I use toasted almond, which makes my brown hair darker and brings out awesome red highlights. I love it because it is good for my hair, and easy to use. I would suggest trying a blonde hair dye from them (it is demi-pernament, meaning it lasts through 28 washes) the color swatches are very true to the actual color result. Be sure to do a strand test though! Another plus is the dye smells really good, and I adore the smell and feel of the conditioner included, which lasts for six weeks! This should last you until you get to the hairdressers to have your roots touched up!

The single lights on my 92 chry. New Yorker Salon don't work-It blinks once then shuts off. How can i fix it?

My dad had put in a brand new fuse and it still doesn't work. The single lights on my 92 chry. New Yorker Salon don't work-It blinks once then shuts off. How can i fix it?
It could very well be the flasher needs to be replaced, you'll find it next to or close by the fuse panel on a similar looking panel that contains numerous devices like horn relays, emergency flasher, lights on or door chimes/buzzer.

It is round, some are metal, some plastic, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and an inch maybe inch and a half high, a simple push/pull installation/removal.

Had the same situation symptoms years ago, a new flasher took care of the problem.

  • Black women: what can I do w/my natural hair until I can get to a salon to have it pressed later this week?

I just removed my braids and combed out my hair. It's huge! My hair is EXTREMELY thick and spongy. How can I wear it for work? Just wash it, put some Elasta QP in it and slick it back? I can't press it myself.Black women: what can I do w/my natural hair until I can get to a salon to have it pressed later this week?
Tasteful braids or twists, like the 2 french braids, blow dry it, Braid it while it's wet can give you some nice spirals. If you slick it back make sure the night before you place a doo rag or bandana on your head to hold the hair down to keep it slick for tomorrow.Black women: what can I do w/my natural hair until I can get to a salon to have it pressed later this week?
I would roller wrap it. Shampoo and condition your hair. Wet it with setting lotion and set it on largest magnetic rollers your hair will hold. Set under a dryer until your hair is dry. After your hair has dried, unroll your hair and with a paddle brush, wrap your hair around your head and sit under the dryer for another 15 to 20 minutes.

Your hair will be straighten with body.
Just pull it back and tie it and then put a clip with a fall on the end to cover the gnarly end.
wash it and then flat twist to your head(small like cornrows but with two strands instead of three). Depending on the length you can make a pretty bun in the back or set the ends on rollers. you can also do that same style at night then in the morning before work undo the twists(you'll have spirals instead of the crinkly look you get from braids) gently seperate and fluff to fill in the parts. before i loc'd i did this all the time very popular people loved it and it's office-acceptable.
slicking it back sounds good, or you can get you a head band and where it like that, that's my favorite
last girl was rite roller wrap it n ill be cute

if not jus slick it back and put it into a bun

or u can put on a headband and go natural

Can a stylist at a salon do temporary dying?

I've never dyed my hair before so I'm wondering if a stylist at a salon could do temporary hair dying, because I'm only dying it for a two day event, but I don't wanna wear a wig or anything, I want it to look natural. I'm wondering if there was a way they could dye my hair really light blonde temporarily, so that it would come out of my hair with some washing. Can a stylist at a salon do temporary dying?
Call around! My salon recently told me they can do some dyes in semi-permanent (28 washes) and permanent.

However, there is no way to lighten hair and reverse it. You can't just ';dye hair blonde'; and then it washes out. By lifting the hair color, you're taking it out of the hair follicles, and thus it no longer exists there. You would have to bleach your hair and then dye it back to normal. Can a stylist at a salon do temporary dying?
if you have brown hair, and you dye it blonde. it will STAY blonde

because blonde is a type of bleach (even if you don't bleach it) so no matter what it will stay in forever. unlike dark colors
Why don't you color your hair? It's temporary. You can buy it at target or something. You just wash it with your hair but it will last for 2 weeks or so.

I can never get my hair looking the way it does after I leave the hair salon. Tips?

I have extremely thick, strawberry blonde hair. I like to straighten it, but it never turns out the way I want it to. Does anyone know how to get it straight, and even possibly lose some volume?I can never get my hair looking the way it does after I leave the hair salon. Tips?
Your hair looks so great after leaving the salon because everything they use is professional, right down to the straightener that they use.

If you don't already, the FIRST thing that I would do is find ONE person who REALLY does your hair the way YOU want it (I FINALLY DID AND I WILL FOLLOW HER WHEREVER SHE GOES!!) and who will answer your questions. Then ask her questions. That is what she is there for. Most hairdressers (if they are good) are happy to help you get your hair the way you want it!! =)

How to keep client's coming to ur hair salon ?

I have a hair salon...It has it's good days and not so good days, but i need some more client's and those that i have i want them to continue coming...How to keep client's coming to ur hair salon ?
Advertise to get new clients. To have regular clients, definitely do an excellent job on their hair. But more importantly, befriend them. Don't just be the person who styles their hair, make them like coming to you for the conversation as well. Become interested in their life, let them in on what's going on with yours, or just talk about the latest newsHow to keep client's coming to ur hair salon ?
Agree with vee. Good service will keep clients coming. There's a salon which I keep coming in my town. They set a reasonable price (relatively cheap), many services available, they also give soft drink to us, where there's no other salon do it here.

And occasionally, there are coupons. Like every 5th times you got hair mask done, you'll get one free hair mask etc. I think it is interesting.

Being unfriendly is a good way to collapse. I have come to one, and I swear I will never come again. I think the their other clients would have the same thought as mine.

Good luck, best wishes for your salon!
Ask them how their doing, be friendly and patient. Also, you could offer them water or something else to drink. When you're done cutting their hair you should ask them if they like it. Or before you start cutting you could say something like, ';What kind of hair style do you want'; or you could make a suggestion as to what style would look good on them. Finally, be gentle with their hair. Try not to yank on it and when you're washing their hair, ask them if the water's a good temperature. Hope this helps...
    Be friendly

ask what type of haircut they want or what you recommend

and cut their hair well, or whatever

and they'll most likely come more!

also, like specials and discounts would keep me coming (; haha

I'm going tanning at a salon for the first time - any tips to keep safe, and tan fast?

I'm going to a tanning salon for the first time today. I think I'll be going about 2-3 times a week for the next 3 weeks. What should I do before, during, and after going tanning that will help me to keep my tan longer, tan faster, and be safer? Do you have any tips for first-time tanners? Should I wear sun screen? Thank you very much,I'm going tanning at a salon for the first time - any tips to keep safe, and tan fast?
Don't overdo it. In other words, start out doing 5 mionutes in the bed and work your way up to the full time or else you will burn and youwill not be able to tan until the burn goes away- a week or two. Tanning bed burn hurts worse than sun burn.

Also, buy some tanning bed lotion at your tanning salon. It will help to moisturize your skin, which will prolong your tan. It is expensive, but they usually sell single use packets for $5 as well. It will make all the difference.

Stand up beds work faster and help to not have tan lines. In lay down beds, sometimes you get white marks under your bottom or down the sides of your torso.

ALWYS wear your goggles. You can severly hurt your eyes if you do not.I'm going tanning at a salon for the first time - any tips to keep safe, and tan fast?
First off Dont. You'll just be asking for cancer. Try Jergen's Natural Glow. It looks so much more real.
There isn't a single answer for this question because everyone's body is different. If your skin is fair I'd recommend tanning often (every other day) and for a short amount of time (8 minutes or less in a 15 minute bed). If your skin is darker you can stay in longer, its really an experiment... you have to see what works for you; start low and work your way up. No matter what your skin type, you'll want to keep it moisturized, lotion before and lotion after (not necessarily tanning lotions). Hope this helps
start with the weakest bed - and dont stay in the entire time.

wait at least a week before going on to the next level.

their lotions help keep your skin smooth, but you dont absolutely need it (theyre pretty overpriced..)

and dont get addicted! (im an addict..)

price does not matter.what is the BEST shampoo? What is the absolute BEST professional salon shampoo for color treated hair?
there is no ABSOLUTE best shampoo. even for color treated hair. EVERYONE's hair is completely different and one shampoo that is the best for one person could damage your hair. don't buy anything other than shampoo from a salon. if you go to your local salon (not cost cutters or cheap ones like that) one of the stylists will take a look at your hair (if you know the dye you used that will help) and recommend the best shampoo for youWhat is the absolute BEST professional salon shampoo for color treated hair?
Garnea Fructis IS realllllly good for color treated hair. The salo told me if I didnt want to spend 30 per bottle that this was the best thing for it! If you do want to spend a lot . You can try any Bed head product. It reallly works well.

How can i find a nail salon that doesnt use the drill when doing gel nails?

will the thickness in my nails ever come back if i've only gotten gel nails once and they used the drill?

thanxHow can i find a nail salon that doesnt use the drill when doing gel nails?
There is no need to use a drill on your natural nails at all. It really only needs to be used on the product, and even then, only on some products. I use enVogue gels, and even though I do use a drill, I don't have to, because it's a soft-filing product.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes, your nails will return to their normal state, but it will take a complete growth cycle, which is anywhere from 3 - 6 months.

Where do i find a company who supplies professional tooth whitening for the salon?

Well - I don't know the answer to that but I doubt you could purchase it if you are not a dentist. Also I don't think I would go to a salon to get my teeth whitened. Can a 7 months pregnant woman go into a nail salon?

Ive heard that the chemicals in nail salons are bad for pregnant women to be breathing in. I want to take my mother out as a thank you for the baby shower she threw me. Is this safe? Can a 7 months pregnant woman go into a nail salon?
Yes you'll be safe. If you worked there and were pregnant, it would be a different story though.

So relax and enjoy :-)Can a 7 months pregnant woman go into a nail salon?
I got my nails done every 2 weeks while pregnant with my son.

He is perfectly happy and healthy.

I think it's only a danger when you are working in there or spending lots of hours there every day.

I was only in there for max 1 %26amp; 1/2 hours every two weeks while pregnant.

You will be safe to go in there.

While there why not get yourself a manicure and pedicure to pamper your self too.
yes you are fine to go in there just do not get a pedicure my friend went and got one when she was 33 weeks pregnant and the next day she delivered she talked to her doctor and they said that when you massage your feet it makes you go into labor
Yeah I went. Well I didn't get my nails done but I sat next to my friend when she got hers done and my baby girl is completely healthy and that was a week and a half before my due date.
ur fine! I am 33 weeks pregnant and have been attending cosmetology school the whole time ...the dr's say its okay and your only going to be in the salon for an hour or two...im in school 8 hours 5 days a week.
Heck yeah...I would be upset if not. I love my monthly pedicures...I am 39 weeks and enjoy them immensely. I think for as little time as you are there its not a big deal.

Is going to the tanning salon every other day enough?

I've been going to the tanning salon for about a week and my skin is getting pretty even. Once I have the tan I want how do I maintain it? Is going every other day too much?? Or should I go less than that?

I have about a month before I go to Maui and I want to maintain my perfect color. Is going to the tanning salon every other day enough?
Tanning causes premature aging of the skin as well as cancer and other problems, so if you are going to tan, try to limit to once a week - this should keep up the color you have right now.

    Effects of Tanning Beds:

http://womenshealth.about.com/od/dermato鈥?/a>Is going to the tanning salon every other day enough?
Store bought tans don't seem to look right. What is the point of going inside to get a tan?
It's more than enough. Tanning beds are gross, pointless, and might give you herpes.
Enough to get cancer in no time... You should use them things only eventually or for special occasions. You're looking for trouble and premature skin aging.
Just FYI, I used to tan a lot and I'm only 24 and had a close call with skin cancer-they removed the infected skin before it would have become a problem.

Just be aware that tans fade but your skin doesn't. Pay attention to your body and if you see any strange new moles or odd color patches of skin, get looked at. A perfect tan is not worth dying for.
tanning beds could give you cancer you shouldnt go that much if you go to get air brush tanned you shouldnt go that much either cuz it looks bad wen someone is too orange but if you're wondering how to maintain your tan try jergens natural glow after you get the perfect tan and that will help you maintain it you can get jergens natural glow at any drug store its about $8 i hopee this helpss good luck :)
wow! i think thats way too much ur cooking ur skin, u might as well say ';hey cancer here i am) get a grip ur trying to tint ur skin by causeing cancer to seep in so u can look good for what a week or so.
Once a week or once every two weeks should be good.

If anything, why don't you just maintain your perfect color now by wearing SPF. A tan won't fade that much in a month. It takes quite a few months. Besides, this way is safer and there's less skin damage involved.
tanning beds are dangerous. even 30 minutes in a tanning bed is about the same as staying in the sun for six hours straight. the risk is about the same.
sure burn it up but when ur 40 u r gonna look like ur 60...besides tanning beds are disgusting...u dont know what they clean those things with....i signed up for 2 months after going a week i smelt like a burned piece of chicken.....quite nasty...never gone again...
you really need to be careful... goin tanning is VERY bad for your skin, it will give you cancer, im serious... once you get your tan... go outside and juss go natural...
I am Irish, and I do not tan! I have found that going to a tanning salon and getting a spray on tan is awesome! Unfortunately even a light tan damages the skin, and tanning salons can cause more damage than the sun.
maybe once every week....you know if you expose your skin to to much sunlight you can get sunspots(brown color) on you later
you are going to get skin cancer.

    congrats.

perfect skin color.... pshh pale people rock.
actually it is probably too much, it is a good way to get skin cancer. look up this web site for information: http://www.maui.net/~southsky/introto.ht鈥?/a>
If I were you i would be more careful, you can get skin cancer from too much UV exposure and everyother day sounds like alot.
Is going to the tanning salon every other day enough to giv eyou cancer? Yes, I am sure it is.
Why not use a self tanner instead - and sunblock! There is NOTHING good about tanning beds.
wow thats way 2 much you can stil get skin cancere u now from taning beds.

i would say go 1 every 2 weeks

  • Do u know of a salon that has permanent blue hair dye?

i want to get blue tips but the hair salon i normally go to doesn't do it. Do u know of a salon that has permanent blue hair dye?
as an added response to Mannequin's- although you may not find a ';permanent'; blue, you will most surely find that any blue dye will permanantly dye your hair a blue hue until it is either cut, grown out, or bleached.

All color requires touch ups and maintenance. I would say that you would not have a hard time finding a salon that can do this for you with visits every 2-3 months for them to keep this color bright and beautiful for you. Do u know of a salon that has permanent blue hair dye?
THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS PERMANENT BLUE HAIR DYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?br>

All crazy colors are non permanent. There's no such thing as a permanent one.
I don't know where you live, but you should call up all the salons in your area and ask if they have blue hair dye.

Is it better to tan at the tanning salon with tanning lotion or sunscreen?

And will I still get nicely tanned with sunscreen? Please let me know if there's anything else I need to be aware of before I tan, thanks :) (aka when i should shower, how long a tan stays..etc)Is it better to tan at the tanning salon with tanning lotion or sunscreen?
I would say tanning lotion, sunscreen blocks out UVB rays not UVA rays. The tanning bed emits UVA rays, which are the rays that affect the lower layers of your skin and make you tan. So sunscreen isn't really necessary. Tanning lotion helps bring out your tan, also there are tanning lotions with moisturizers which help keep your skin from drying up. So yea, definitely go with tanning lotion.

When it comes to showering, I usually wait about 2 hours after tanning before I shower. Especially, if you're using tanning lotion with bronzer in it. This gives it time to develop before you wash off your body. Also, I always try to shower before I tan, and make sure you wash with a loofa. This exfoliates your skin, and takes off all that dead skin, so you're less likely to peel. This has always helped me.Is it better to tan at the tanning salon with tanning lotion or sunscreen?
it is best to get a sun tan lotion w/ sunscreen in it. that way you block out all the bad uv rays from the sun and dont harm your skin. w/ only sunscreen you will not get a tan and w/ only tanning lotion you will not block out UV rays which can give you cancer.
Use tanning lotion, it protects your skin and helps you really absorb the tan. As for showering, tanning salons recommend waiting 4 hours.

Could a salon dye my hair from red to brown with some medium blonde highlights without stripping it?

I understand it might have a brassy tone, which is okay, I'm just tired of the red.Could a salon dye my hair from red to brown with some medium blonde highlights without stripping it?
um not unless u pay them 5,000 dollarsCould a salon dye my hair from red to brown with some medium blonde highlights without stripping it?
Yes, they could, but getting away from the red is always hard so your going to want someone who is a color expert. I think that you are on the right track (as fare as color-wise), though. You need to ask to talk to the manager of the salon. Then tell him/her what you are wanting. Ask them if they can suggest someone GOOD to do this for you, or if they can do it themselves. Also, ask them prices, time involved, etc. Then you will want to know what kinds of Shampoo's/conditions will be safe to use on your beautiful new color. As not to make it fade. Also, ask them how long it will last and when you will need to have it touched-up. GOOD LUCK!
    yeah. my friend did it.
Red is easy to cover up. The only problem is it prevents the new colour from sticking properly. It will therefore fade quickly.

Stripping red out is a pain! I've gone through many ';red'; phases, and getting out of them is always horrible. Salon or home bleach made my tips turn bright orange, and the roots highlighter yellow (I'm a natural blonde).

So, to answer your question, it can be done, but be prepared to repeat the process a number of times, until your hair has properly grown out.
    YUP.

I went through that phase too with my red hair.

It wont strip it, just make sure you go to a professional.

(I have strawberry blonde hair, and it's been brown, dark brown, auburn and others.)
This can work only hair color doesn't lift hair color. So your hairstylist will have to use a pre- lightner (hair bleach) for the blonde. The brown will cover the red. Don't worry your hair won't break off using bleach unless your hair is pretty damaged. Your hairstylist will know if it's ok to bleach.

Can a salon put like to skinny highlights next to eachother (diff. color) and thats it?

I want to put like a blonde streak next to a black streak ( not too noticable) for the SteelersCan a salon put like to skinny highlights next to eachother (diff. color) and thats it?
Yes we can do any thing your heart desires er.Can a salon put like to skinny highlights next to eachother (diff. color) and thats it?
Yes, its called high lights and low lights. In order to achieve the look you want, if your hair is not already black they will dye it black then they will use a high lighting technique called weaving (where the hair is sectioned off the stylist parts off a subsection then using the stem of a rat tail comb and intertwine the comb that give them the smaller strands of hair in which they will place on the foil and apply the lightener). However make sure to specify how small you want the strands to be that or going to be high lighted. It also helps if you bring a picture of the look you want so the stylist can get a better of what they need to. I hope this helped you and good luck with your hair I'm sure it will turn out fabulous!!! : )
they can do that with foil. when the woman did my hair i wanted to go back to blonde from brown so they but a million foils in my hair but as she prepared each section for dye and foil she seperated it and then zag zagged thru it so she would get a different effect. it came out wonderful and i imagine if they did kind of the same thing u could get the effect u wanted just with blonde and black. good luck
I think its better to get foils rather than streaks.
I love da steelers! sure da salon can do that. Just ask
yes they can just mention that u don't want it to look too noticable.
    yes they can

  • Unisex hair salons. Why arn't they called bisexual hair salons?

The word ';uni'; means one, and ';bi'; means two, but unisex hair salons cut both sexes hair, not just one sex like the prefix ';uni'; suggests.

Shouldn't they be called bisexual hair salons because they cut ';two'; sexes hair?Unisex hair salons. Why arn't they called bisexual hair salons?
The uni is referring to the salon itself - one salon for all.

Same with unisex toilets. One toilet for all.Unisex hair salons. Why arn't they called bisexual hair salons?
because unisex are for both sexes if they called it bisexual then only bisexuals would go in there.
Bisexual regards a persons sexuality- i.e. they are sexually attracted to two sexes, where as unisex just means both sexes. A Bisexual salon would be interesting it would need to be attracted to both male and female salons!!

Yesterday my friend convinced me to go to a tanning salon and with spring break being only a month away it seemed like a good idea. I am Italian so naturally we get tan and when i was younger i would get incredibly dark during the summer but in the past 5 years due to some weight gain my chest and back have been pretty white but my arms face and lower legs have continued to tan very well. Anyway we went tanning yesterday and today i am very burned on my chest back and thighs. My question is since i use to get tan easily will i be able to again on m chest and back even though they have not been tan in a while and what is the best way to brown and not burn at a tanning salon. Thank YouHow to not get burned at a tanning salon?, had a bad experience yesterday?
watch final destination3 and you will NEVER go to a tanning be again. i think thats your solution...justdont go.How to not get burned at a tanning salon?, had a bad experience yesterday?
You have to gradually build up your resistance in the tanning salon. Start off with a very short time and add to it each day until you can stay the maximum amount for that tanning facility.
Don't go. It's not good for you anyway.
You were in the tanning bed far too long.

Tanning salons aren't really good for you. In fact, tanning at all isn't all that good for you. Can cause skin cancer. Use a good sunscreen when you go outside, and stay away from tanning beds.
Tanning beds are SO dangerous! I can't believe people still use them! Their UV rays are more harmful than the sun, and everytime you get a burn, you increase your chance at getting skin cancer by 5%.

Always! Thats exactly acceptable and what you are intitled to!

When you have your hair cut its almost always exclusive of cut and finish. They should charge you no more and should ask you what products you want, or how you would like it finished. You are intitled to request finishing products thats incuded in the price.

Where in ireland can you buy ghd?is it only salons?

You can only buy them in some salons as you have to have a certain license to sell them!

You can't buy them in shops unfortunately, you might find a few on the internet!

They usually cost 180 but shop around as usually hairdressers have a special offer , I got mine for 160 and I got a free styling kit with it!!Where in ireland can you buy ghd?is it only salons?
Yeah you can only get them in hairdressers. I got my lovely pink one in the local hairdressers. You can get them in Peter Marks and other ones. Just ask your local hairdresser.

Just for your own benefit don't order them off any internet sites, even if they're 'reliable'. You just don't know if you could get a fake- way better to be safe than sorry.Where in ireland can you buy ghd?is it only salons?
Peter Mark's is the only place you can buy GHD's as far as I know. Or the website.

Apparently there's counterfeit ones floating around that can electrocute you....according to the site.

Ha someone had to actually tell me that GHD stands for 'good hair day', yeah, I'm slow!
You can only get them salons as far as I know. But you can buy them on ebay.

If I were you i'd go to Peter Mark's to buy one because they have the best offers on them.
Yeah as far as i know it is. I got mine at my local hairdressers (its purple!) :D Alot of hairdressers are stocking them nowadays so inquire around.

    They are so amazing! lol

    Good luck!
in peter marks or on internet and certain hair supply shops
Yup, I think so! I've only seen them in Peter Mark though!
    What's ghd?

Ladies how do you feel about men going to beauty salons for facials etc.?

    I think it's a very good thing.

For so many years guys have not felt like they could do anything tactile, like that, to destress and relax.

Skin contact can sooth more than anything else for people. Relax those muscles, and that's great for appearance and circulation. And guys have muscles that need to relax, and improve circulation too!

My husband was a telephone lineman. So he took very good care of himself, he climbed without any bucket.

He looked and felt great, but his face had it hard sometimes. I would look into his face and see dirt that had become impacted in the pores.

This happens alot with blue collar type guys, especially, cause they are exposed to more industrially.

And they don't have time to realize that simple washing with a washcloth won't fix this.

They simply don't have the available resourses at home that women usually do to take care of it?

Why should men have to suffer like this?Ladies how do you feel about men going to beauty salons for facials etc.?
Just fine. Glad to see you.Ladies how do you feel about men going to beauty salons for facials etc.?
    sissy

    men should look natural
i think it's adorable that a man isn't afraid to go into a beauty salon to get a facial and meet girls.
i think men like women should do every thing they can to keep there complection in good shape
They are right. They must also take care of their skin
its abit gay but if your ego is that big that you need to be prettied up all the time then go ahead.
I like a man to be a man's man but a little bit of grooming is admirable also. You know looking neat %26amp; tidy.
    Woozies!
ha ha! is that a joke... oh soz dint see your name Ding Dong!! only kiddin... yup i think you blokes shud do dat more often then youll be able to see the amount of hassle and pain girls go through just to look beautiful for u blokes out there... after all that many gyals dont even get a bludy compliment.... jesus! bless...
A terrible indictment on the decline of proper values. Men are no longer men. They are women with different genitals. These metrosexual types should be laughed out of town. Mincing around salons to have their nails done and flanels put on their faces. Poofs from first to last.
    each to their own....
All for it, I love to give facials, and mens skin is just as in need as womens, plus what a stress reducer!
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that
It's a good thing because it shows that they care about what they look like and they aren't like a slob.
    good
I think it is good that some guys really appreciate what they look like. I have seen some men that desperately need to look in a mirror a little more. But I don't think it is ok for them to go too often, like once every other week--I don't even do that.

    Tanning salons? good or bad?

    how efficient are tanning salons?

if you go to one, how often should u go, if you have pale skin? to get a nice bronzed look?

how much, in average, do they usually charge for one day? reguardless of location..?

any tips or sugestions for pale - skinned girls?

do they make you orange by any chance??Tanning salons? good or bad?
tanning salons are very effective but after a while most people take on an orange look, especially if you start out very pale. the most important thing to remeber when tanning in salons is to go pretty slow at first, so like tan for 4 mins each day in a entry leval bed ($5-7 a session) if your super pale for like 4 days then move up to 8 mins for about 5 days then start going the full 12 or 15 mins. also avoid the 20 min beds because those will burn you very easily and take longer reach your desired level of tan/bronzed/sexified-ness!

also the more expensive beds ($20-30 a session) get you tan really fast and are a lot harder to burn in, but you'll still want to start slow.

OOOH! also a lot of places offer really good student discounts if your still in highschool, trust me i was one tan son of a ***** in high school. well goodluck!Tanning salons? good or bad?
if you have pale skin when you start off go like 3-4 days a week for 2 weeks at 7 minutes in the most expensive bed (it's the bed that will make you burn the least). Then move to 10 min every 4-5 days for 2 weeks. Than go for 15 min (or max mins) every 4-5 days after that. You'll have nice bronz color in about a month half.

$$ wise It depends where you go. Beach bum has pretty good monthly deals. but on a regualr basis it's about $25 each day.

If you have pale skin do not over do it at first. You will get way too burnt!

Girls on look really orange if you get sprayed or airbrushed.

Just use the bed to get a nice dark glow!

    = ) happy tanning
    Q. Are Tanning Salons Safe?

    A.

While there are going to be a lot of people who won't agree with me, I'm going to take a stand. I really don't believe they are safe. Here's why...

I don't believe that a thin layer of plexiglass is going to protect you from the ultraviolet rays that are directed at you. And often, the UVA rays that you are absorbing are more potent than those you would find out of doors.

If you are like me, you might be under the impression that salons only use UVA rays for tanning purposes which meant that you would not burn. But according to American Academy of Dermatology, this is not the case. Most bulbs used at salons emit UVA and small amounts of UVB rays. It is also believed that this is contributing to a variety of cancers.

According to Nicholas Lowe, author of Skin Secrets, using a tanning bed will not offer the limited amount of protection that a little sun will provide. Here is how he explains it. The melanin that is produced by a limited exposure of the sun will offer a little protection... although you had to damage your skin to get it. The UVA rays used with tanning beds does not work in the same way. Natural sun will cause the skin to thicken and that is where the protection comes into play. The UVA rays used in a salon has no effect on the thickening of the skin.

Neil Izenberg, MD also believes the amount of UVA rays that are emited are very dangerous and advises that teens stay away from the salons. Source: Kidshealth.org

And if all of the above hasn't been enough to scare you away, Sid Kirchheimer, a health and medical writer and editor for two decades, believes that by visiting a salon once a month could increase your chances of cancer by fifty five percent. Are you willing to take the chance? Source: Webmd.com
Tanning salons,.....uhn uhn....don't do it! Very unhealthy!!

The best way is the sun!!

You know people complain about how dangerous it is but we still see a whole lot of people staying in the sun out there. Just make sure you have on the proper moisturizers and sunscreen! I mean I understand that my skin is darker and therefore it allows me to soak the sun more but 1.) Everyone's skin NEEDS the sun, It has Vitamin D in it! 2.)Well, too much of anything is not good!! My best answer to you is to get it the good old fashoined natural way in moderation!!
    How old are you?

Sunbeds are not good for your skin. At best, they cause premature aging of the skin. Repeated exposure to the UV rays will also increase the risk of cancer.

My tips for pale-skinned girls? Wear a high factor sunscreen and embrace your paleness. It's not unattractive in the slightest.
tanning salons are only for people who are embarrassed by their race.

I say if you're black, asian, white, whatever, just embrace it.

Why would you want to look bi-racial?

    Just be white.
BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD

    oh yeah...

    BAD.
If you don`t mind being orange?
    gross
