I'm going tanning at a salon for the first time - any tips to keep safe, and tan fast?

I'm going to a tanning salon for the first time today. I think I'll be going about 2-3 times a week for the next 3 weeks. What should I do before, during, and after going tanning that will help me to keep my tan longer, tan faster, and be safer? Do you have any tips for first-time tanners? Should I wear sun screen? Thank you very much,I'm going tanning at a salon for the first time - any tips to keep safe, and tan fast?
Don't overdo it. In other words, start out doing 5 mionutes in the bed and work your way up to the full time or else you will burn and youwill not be able to tan until the burn goes away- a week or two. Tanning bed burn hurts worse than sun burn.

Also, buy some tanning bed lotion at your tanning salon. It will help to moisturize your skin, which will prolong your tan. It is expensive, but they usually sell single use packets for $5 as well. It will make all the difference.

Stand up beds work faster and help to not have tan lines. In lay down beds, sometimes you get white marks under your bottom or down the sides of your torso.

ALWYS wear your goggles. You can severly hurt your eyes if you do not.I'm going tanning at a salon for the first time - any tips to keep safe, and tan fast?
First off Dont. You'll just be asking for cancer. Try Jergen's Natural Glow. It looks so much more real.
There isn't a single answer for this question because everyone's body is different. If your skin is fair I'd recommend tanning often (every other day) and for a short amount of time (8 minutes or less in a 15 minute bed). If your skin is darker you can stay in longer, its really an experiment... you have to see what works for you; start low and work your way up. No matter what your skin type, you'll want to keep it moisturized, lotion before and lotion after (not necessarily tanning lotions). Hope this helps
start with the weakest bed - and dont stay in the entire time.

wait at least a week before going on to the next level.

their lotions help keep your skin smooth, but you dont absolutely need it (theyre pretty overpriced..)

and dont get addicted! (im an addict..)
