What's a good inexpensive hair salon in downtown Los Angeles?

I'm going to a wedding in August and I can't really do anything fancy with hair for a wedding. Does anyone know where I can go that's not too expensive and does nice updos?What's a good inexpensive hair salon in downtown Los Angeles?
don't know about downtown LA...I would suggest this if money is an issue........call the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica...many of the students live in Korea town ( next door)....ask if there is a way to get in touch with one of the cosmetology students... to see about doing your hair for a special engagement although you are a student and looking for a bit of a break as well.........





Many of the students there are very good before they even begin....they were 'born' hair stylists, and love doing hair....so they would be glad to do it just for the practice and most likely for the photo they could put in their portfolio...
