I get a hair spray buildup on my bathroom door. I use a paint brush and brush on fabric softner.

I think this would work on glass. Get the goo off with the fabric softner and then clean with regular glass cleaner.Antone know an excellent glass cleaner for heavy duty hairspray in a salon?
acatone, or unsented finger nail polish remover,[same thing]
How about shampoo? That's what it's made for
I was told to use alcohol. Not sure if it works.
Hairspray is kind of a plastic coating. It is no surprise that glass cleaner did not cut through. You can try a single edge razor blade scraper from the paint department at a hardware store. Plan B would be a steam cleaner such as ';the shark'; steam cleaner you have seen advertised on TV. They sell them at Walgreens'. Plan C would be to put on rubber gloves and a face shield and spray oven cleaner. It is nasty stuff, but it should get it off. If you are extremely unlucky, you will need to use all three techniques.
