okay my hair is dark brown and i want to dye it blonde but i dont want it coming out looking bright orange. so how do i get my hair to be blonde without having to go to the salon.How should i go about dying my hair from dark brown to blonde without having to go to the salon?
First off, is your hair dyed dark brown, or all natural...because the process is completely different. If you have naturally dark brown hair, then go to your local beauty supply and pick out the color you want; depending on how light blonde your are going, you might need a 30 vol developer, or a 40 vol developer for the lightest results. Now keep in mind that dark brown hair is very hard to lighten, and usually can only be lifted about 4 levels, so say your hair is a level 3, then the lightest your hair can get is about a 7, which is light brown/dark blonde.





If your hair has been dyed dark brown, then you would need to have your hair color corrected, which requires bleach, and a lot of time, and skill; so for that i recommend you go to a salon.





Remember, NEVER use a box dye, or results will most definately be orange. Trust me, spring for the salon. I have very dark brown hair and I wanted to dye it red. It didn't show up. With dark hair, you have to bleach it out. That can end up really screwing up your hair.





If you insist on dying your hair without a salon help, find someone who has dyed their own hair on numerous occasions and is good at it. Then find hair bleach. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY. Find a good hair dye, L'Oreal is a pretty good brand, although Feria is extremely hard to get out if you screw up. And then follow the instructions.

get a do it your self hair colour most packets have colour chech from your original colour to the result colour.what you need:do it yourself colour kit.a freind you trust and a comfy chair because it could take a while.read the instructions carefully.double check things before you do them.if you do all this it should work well.
DONT go from blonde hair to DARK BROWN that would be a big SHOCK for you i did and it was horrible what you should do it go to a light drown first then a darker drown then you can finally have your drak drown hair with out a HUGE shock
If you want to dye your hair a lighter color your best bet is to bleach it, and then dye it the color you wish and it should come out perfect! I have red hair and to put golden highlights in they had to bleach it then highlight it...
I wouldn't try it if I were you. 12 years ago I tried it and ended up with orange hair. It could happen to you.
